Horwich Leisure Centre ASC is a swimming club for Horwich and its surrounding areas with members throughout Bolton and Chorley districts. Whether you are looking for swimming progression, fitness or competition, Horwich Leisure Centre ASC has something to offer. Summer Sprint 2008 The results of the Summer Sprints which were held on Saturday 28th June 2008 are now available. M&D Programme B Final Congratulations to our girls' team who won the M&D Programme B Final which was held at Irlam pool on Sunday 29th June 2008. The boys' team came joint second and overall Horwich came a very creditable second to a very strong Worsley team. Well done to all swimmers who took part. Rachael Latham selected for Beijing Rachael Latham, who is now 18 years old and has been a member of Horwich Swimming Club for 9 years, has been selected for the GB team for the Paralympics in Beijing. She trains with the World Class Podium swimmers at the High Performance Centre at Manchester, and with the Bolton Metro Swimming Squad. Rachael swam recently at the Paralympic World Cup in Manchester finishing 4th in the 100 backstroke, a good swim whilst recovering from illness and a shoulder operation a few months ago. The Club would like to wish Rachael the best of luck for the Olympics during the summer. Next Committee Meeting The next Committee Meeting will be held on Friday 4th July 2008 at 7:30pm at the Leisure Centre. Everyone is welcome to attend and maybe get involved in helping to run the Club. |
